With over 80 years of experience in the concrete and construction industries, the masterminds behind Hickman & Love decided to create a dedicated company specialising in bespoke wire mesh solutions and precision welding.
Cue the introduction of Mesh Weld.
While the team’s tailored, bespoke services as part of the Hickman & Love company are renowned across various industries, this new arm of the empire needed the look and direction to generate its own identity.
That’s where we came in.

The Brief
Despite the personnel behind Mesh Weld being highly experienced, we were essentially starting from scratch.
The first port of call was the website. To reflect the company’s prowess and expertise, Mesh Weld needed a website that looked bespoke and streamlined the user experience (UX). Whilst designing the one-page website, we continually considered the user journey to ensure every feature was accessible and aesthetic.
Secondly, we wanted the new site to be seen.
In order to strengthen their reputation as industry leaders, we needed to incorporate an SEO strategy to optimise the website and ensure the site would generate organic traffic. After all, what’s the use of having a streamlined new website if no one sees it?
The Result
After careful consideration of the user journey and the brand’s aesthetic, we opted for a modern one-page website.
We chose a colour scheme of orange, white, and black to match the branding of Mesh Weld – similar to that of its sister company (and our client), Hickman & Love. The bold orange highlights key focal points on the website, and the white spaces help to enforce this visual hierarchy and give the site an elegant and clean aesthetic.
Sparse imagery of metal wiring complements the modern aesthetic of the website, whilst nodding to Mesh Weld’s area of expertise.
Using clear and simple page titles at the top of the homepage, the website is easily navigable for every visitor. Confining the site to one page also enables key information to stand out, instead of being lost in a sea of information.
Overall, our web design achieved every goal that Mesh Weld set out at the beginning of our collaboration. The fresh new look now matches the company’s successful reputation and reflects its innovative approach to the welding industry.
Since launch, we’ve already seen an incredible boost in website traffic and enquiries. It’s the perfect start to a prosperous ongoing relationship.
